The components of Quartz are derived from naturally quartz sand materials. Usually It is manufactured with 93% of crushed quartz powder and combined with 7% resins to hold it together along with some additional of man made pigments to give its colors and textures.
Only basic colors have 93% of quartz, since requires less amount of resins to bond but in case of Calacatta’s the quartz percentage gets reduced to between 85% to 90% depending on the pattern.
The physical properties of quartz makes the installation process easier than granite. It is more flexible, which makes it easier to cut.
